A Project About the Berlin Wall

Resources for Teachers from Target

Target has donated more than $200 million to schools through its “Take Charge of Education” program, and its website has resources for teachers as well as information about the grants the company awards. Those include 5,000 grants of up to $800 for field trips for teachers, arts grants for programs and organizations, and early childhood reading grants. Target also sponsors family reading nights and a “Letters about Literature” contest for students held in partnership with the Library of Congress.

Learns is a free website that is the result of an outgrowth of a project of the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Vocational and Adult Education, Division of Adult Education and Literacy. It is intended to help adults learn English, as well as improve their basic reading, writing, speaking, and life skills. The site is in both English and Spanish.
