Post to Year of Languages Bulletin Board YOL Board Home   Post   Search Organization/Company : Spotted Eagle High School Consultant Native American communities are now focusing on the reintroduction and teaching of the languages of America's indigenous peoples that were suppressed and nearly wiped out by the early immigrants to this land who formed the dominant English-speaking culture. To more truly honor language diversity, we ought to include an emphasis on preserving and revitalizing endangered indigenous languages, as well as promoting the teaching of "foreign" languages in the Year of Language.
